My involvement with the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) includes volunteering at STEM events, supporting high‑school robotics competitions, and collaborating with college SHPE members to promote engineering pathways for students.
I volunteered as a judge at a high‑school robotics competition alongside SHPE college members. This event focused on evaluating robot performance, teamwork, and engineering documentation. It was an opportunity to support young engineers and represent SHPE in the community.
Service Learning : High School Robot Competition Judge In this event; Robotic competition I had the opportunity to judge high school student in a regional wide Robot competition. As a Volunteer, my role was to judge there engineering and mechanical design. It was Saturday, May 18th 2017, We showed up at 8:00am and judged through the evening until 3:00pm of that day. Through the event I got to meet a candidate running for mayor of Boston, Members of the nation chapter of SHPE from the Boston Chapter, Latino stem alliance members, and hundreds of passionate high school student interested in the stem field. In being a judge of this event I got to see how young mind in stem will one day build our society. Also, I got to see the potential of robotics in the future. It was really difficult grading the students as each design was unique in nature and approach the problem in unique ways. As I stood there for hours, time just flew by as the competition heated up. As former vice president of external affairs, this experience was impactful as I got to see an abundance of great minds in the colossal high school gym. Attached bellow are figures 1-5 depicting documenting the event.

Participating in SHPE events has strengthened my commitment to community involvement and STEM outreach. These experiences reinforce the importance of representation, mentorship, and supporting the next generation of engineers.
